The Learning Path creates tailored, individualized lesson plans that help students master the fundamentals for learning anything, teaching children to teach themselves, and giving students a joy for learning. Our programs create confident, capable, and independent students.
Our students range in age from preschool, starting at 3 years of age and learning how to read, through to high school, with students preparing for the SAT &/or ACT and mastering higher level Math. The Learning Path’s diagnostic testing and curricula are mapped to the new Common Core standards. For younger students, we emphasize a mastery of fundamental skills in the basics before shifting focus to the Common Core.
Learning is a chosen Path. We aim to inspire children to learn for the joy of it, to be creative and independent thinkers and learners, to be the future leaders of our global society. An ability to learn is an acquired skill, not an inherent talent. Every child can succeed.
The services The Learning Path provides depend on your child’s learning needs. All of our services are completely individualized to your child.
The younger your child starts, the easier it is to get them ahead. Students who are ahead of the curve are also more confident, and confidence is a self-fulfilling prophecy that leads to success. In matters of academics and learning, substance must substantiate confidence – i.e. it is hard to maintain confidence when one does not achieve good grades. For many students, there is no greater feeling than earning an excellent report card. Working together, we will ensure that your child gains such an experience.
Given time, we have moved many under-performing students to the top of their class and abilities. Schools cover a wide range of topics in rapid succession, and many students (let alone parents) become lost. The frustration engendered can undermine the confidence and motivation to learn. If necessary, we can restore your child’s confidence and motivation to learn. Our aim is to ensure that the joy of learning becomes lasting.
Your child will attend our centers in Mar Vista and Santa Monica two to four times per week and receive individualized tasks to get them ahead in Math, Reading, and Writing. Our aim is to foster independent study skills, which means that the student has to learn to study examples and give it a try before asking for help. Ultimately this will enable your child to be free of the need for our services. The Learning Path aims to teach fishing, not to dole out fish. The Learning Path provides a positive supporting environment that enables individual learning and fosters confidence.
